Fatigue as identity
In medicine, endurance is often treated as a virtue. The problem begins when human limits are interpreted as weakness and exhaustion becomes a silent part of professional identity.
When that happens, culture stops protecting patients and teams: it begins producing risk.
Technology does not fix culture
AI can reduce friction, organize information, and relieve repetitive tasks. But if it is used to demand even more speed, it only modernizes overload.
The goal should be to restore cognitive margin and decision-making capacity.
Naming the limit
A mature clinical culture does not romanticize exhaustion. It measures real workload, redesigns processes, and understands that caring for clinical judgment also means caring for those who exercise it.
